Carbon Credit

- 70% Raised
- $10,000 (Goal)
Carbon offsets, or carbon credits, are licences that let the bearer emit a specific quantity of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide. One tonne of carbon dioxide or its equivalent in other greenhouse gases can be emitted with one credit.
One half of a purported cap and trade scheme is the carbon credit. Polluting companies receive credits that let them keep polluting up to a predetermined limit, which is periodically lowered. Any credits that are not needed may be sold by the company to a different business in the interim. If their emissions are more than the cap, they first have to pay for additional credits. By cutting their emissions and selling their unused allowances, they can also profit.
Our Main Goals
The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere is the ultimate objective of carbon credits. As mentioned, the right to emit greenhouse gases equal to one tonne of carbon dioxide is represented by a carbon credit. In terms of carbon dioxide emissions, that is the same as driving 2,400 miles, according to the Environmental Defence Fund.
